About The Opportunity

The Third Party Vendor Manager is a dedicated 1st Line of Defence resource, primarily focused on managing the Third Party Relationship Management (TPRM) processes currently being handled by the Information Security team and designated Relationship Managers.

This role is responsible for the consistent application of the organization's TPRM Framework and adherence to OSFI’s B-10 requirements for all Third-Party relationships. Specifically, this role will oversee related processes, maintain our Third-Party inventory, work directly with third parties to produce deliverables, and provide ongoing support to relationship managers.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the completion of deliverables in accordance with the Third-Party Risk Management framework, including criticality and risk assessments, due diligence, contract reviews, performance monitoring, and contingency/exit planning.
  • Support Canada Guaranty’s relationship managers in developing Third-Party relationships and evaluating risks in alignment with the Third-Party Risk Management framework.
  • Ensure comprehensive oversight of all suppliers and services through maintenance of the Third-Party inventory in the GRC solution.
  • Protect the interests of Canada Guaranty by identifying and managing risks and escalating issues as necessary in accordance with the defined Issues Management process.
  • Build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and third parties to ensure that business objectives are met, required deliverables are produced, and frameworks are adhered to.
  • Develop strategies to continuously improve the efficiency and operating effectiveness of the Third-Party management lifecycle.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for relationship managers by maintaining a knowledgebase of best practices, providing periodic training, and offering ongoing support to ensure that Third-Party management is conducted in a consistent and timely manner across the organization.
  • Support the development of Third-Party KPI’s and KRI’s, producing periodic reporting for Senior Management and the Enterprise Risk Management department.
  • Prepare reports to support periodic regulatory data calls, reviews, and requests for information.
  • Collect and collate information from relationship managers related to Third-Party service performance to further enhance service level monitoring.

Essential Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in roles related to Third-Party management.
  • Experience in the Canadian financial industry with knowledge of regulatory expectations under OSFI’s B-10 guideline.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities. Experience taking ownership of problems and working on projects involving multiple resources.
  • Initiative and creativity to develop new approaches or solutions to problems.
  • Ability to work independently and take accountability for the quality of work.
  • Equally able to work effectively and collaboratively as a team member, sharing information and ideas in a timely manner.
  • Ability to plan and manage time effectively, multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Experience using GRC solutions (i.e., Archer) to manage Third-Party relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience developing applications in a GRC solution is considered an asset.
