The salary range for this position is:
- Recruitment range: $58,326 - $64,293 starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.
- Performance range: $75,821 salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases.
Job Summary
Mandate:
As part of the Alumni & Development unit, and under the leadership of the Director, Alumni Relations, the UVic Alumni Relations office works in partnership with the UVic Alumni Association to inform and engage to inspire a proud community of alumni to help enhance UVic’s external profile and positively influence the success of the university.
The Alumni Coordinator – Events and Marketing plays a key role in the implementation of strategic Alumni Relations programming through the coordination of event and communications logistics, as well as the associated data. The Coordinator works closely with the entire Alumni Relations team and campus partners across a range of programming to bring consistency and efficiency to all alumni events and marketing. This role is an RE NXT database power user.
Objectives:

Manage the campus-wide alumni communications calendar, as well as in-person and digital event logistics and social media for a range of alumni events.

Develop and implement digital engagement for signature alumni events.

In collaboration with Advancement Services, ensure data quality across all programming and maintain processes that allow for the accurate tracking of alumni event and marketing engagement efforts.
The Coordinator is expected to gain an in-depth understanding of core Alumni Relations processes, acting as a resource for standards around email marketing, digital engagement, alumni data integrity and the tracking and measuring of alumni performance metrics.
This role requires the flexibility to work weekends or evenings as required for events.
Job Requirements
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree plus one year of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

Demonstrated event organization skills
-
Demonstrated ability to work with complex databases
-
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-
Demonstrated experience in writing for the web and marketing purposes
-
Knowledge of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Vine, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be optimally deployed in different scenarios

Proven track record of sound decision making in a fast-paced environment
-
Proven track record achieving project goals on time and producing deliverables of a high quality
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
-
Commitment to excellent customer service and experience working with public
-
Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and with all levels of university personnel
-
Demonstrated commitment to valuing the principles of truth, reconciliation and respect, equity diversity and inclusion, and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Assets or Preferences:
- Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge
- University of Victoria alumni experience or background
