Position Purpose:

The overall duty of this position is to provide support to the Shop team with the daily operation accurately, efficiently, and safe handling of all incoming and outgoing materials, equipment, and documentation within the warehouse. This role supports non-destructive testing (NDT) or inspection operations by ensuring timely delivery of parts, tools, and materials while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, tools, and equipment against purchase orders and shipping documents.
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to customer, carrier, and safety requirements.
  • Generate and maintain shipping documentation (bills of lading, packing slips, etc.).
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers and couriers.
  • Record materials and equipment in the inventory management system.
  • Maintain proper stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Label, organize, and store materials according to company procedures and safety standards.
  • Ensure safe handling of sensitive, calibrated, or non-destructive testing equipment.
  • Deliver and retrieve materials and samples to/from inspection or testing areas.
  • Assist with preparing shipments of inspected materials to clients or other facilities.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free warehouse environment.
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.

Education and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations (industrial or inspection environment preferred).
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, data entry).
  • Knowledge of handling and packaging sensitive or calibrated equipment is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Required to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather.
  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials in various working environments.
  • Occasionally required to work in noisy/loud working environments especially on project sites.
  • Required to work overtime during the week and weekend depending on project scope and work volume.
