Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director, Finance Transformation to lead the development of financial systems and improvement of financial operations at Cando Rail & Terminals. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the modernization of Cando’s key financial systems and processes, supporting both the experienced growth of the Company and preparing it for continued growth in the future. This position reports to the AVP, Finance and requires a CPA designation and a strong background in leadership, with at least 10 years of experience, including experience in transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Technology Advancement
- Drive the modernization of financial systems and reporting tools, leveraging automation and data analytics
- Enhance efficiency in financial workflows, including budgeting, invoicing, and reporting
- Execute the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning system to support the current and future needs of the Company
- Support the implementation of new acquisitions into all financial aspects of the Company
- Assess key workflows for modernization and efficiency using process and system enhancements
- Assess and understand key operational processes and their integration with finance and non-finance systems
- Assist in the development of financial reporting models to capture key financial and operational metrics across the Company’s segments and business units
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor a transformation team, ensuring high performance and continuous development
- Develop, recruit and hire team members to meet the needs of a growing company
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation
Qualifications & Experience
- CPA designation is required
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams
- History of executing key finance transformation projects with an analytical mindset focused on problem solving
- Strong knowledge of financial planning and reporting, risk management, and experience implementing technological solutions
- Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders
