This role reports into the above mentioned office, however NORR offers all of its employees the opportunity to work either from home or from a NORR office.

Justice architecture demands multi-faceted design to uphold and express the legal process, and achieve efficient and functional operations, while maintaining a safe and secure environment. As a Contract Administrator, you will observe the construction of projects within our Commercial Studio to ensure that Contractors and Owners are fulfilling their respective roles and obligations as outlined in the construction contract. In addition, they will assist in realizing the project by providing Contractors with document clarifications, technical interpretations/recommendations, and review of financial progress. Contract Administrators also assist design and technical staff with constructability reviews and feedback.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform site visits to determine compliance with construction contract and relevant building and safety codes; prepare reports to document progress, identify any deviation from the construction contract and liaise with owner and contractor to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Track and review shop drawings, schedules, samples, progress payments, alternate requests, and project change documents to ensure all project documentation is accurate and complete
  • Coordinate with contractor, sub-consultants, or relevant building authorities to address and document issues with constructability or owner concerns
  • Prepare project change documentation, including sketches and drawings
  • Attend and conduct progress meetings before, during, and after the duration of the project to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns with various key stakeholders
  • Ensure that all project close out documents are submitted and forwarded to appropriate parties upon completion of the project

Required Skills

  • Architectural or engineering systems design and presentation, M&E and structural building systems, permit and building code
  • Registered with a relevant professional association is an asset
  • Experience in strategic development, business development, project management, and client management is required
  • Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and resourcefulness

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of project work experience
  • Experience in Justice projects is an asset
  • Salary: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 /annually
