About the role
Job Description The Cook 1 is responsible for preparing and cooking according to direction provided by Chef/ Sous Chef/ Senior Cooks in the kitchen. They must also ensure safety precautions and sanitary provisions are taken to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily
- Set up and cleanup of scheduled services
- Transport Soups to serving station before each meal service, complete with serving ladle and correct soup Label.
- Wash, peel, cut and seed fruits and vegetable in preparation of food services
- Preheat Hay boxes 1 hour prior to food being inserted.
- Ensure food is out at its proper times to the customers (steam line to be filled and ready 10 min. before service)
- Standards of foodservices sanitation and hygiene instruction
- Standards of safe food storage, food handling instruction
- Ensure all foods served are at the proper temperature before serving time
- Ensure that the QA temperature log is maintained during all meals and that all items served at the meal are at optimum temperature at all times.(hot foods hot, cold foods cold) (Temperatures are to be taken and recorded 3 times during each meal)
- Ensure that all food remains eye-appealing and replenished throughout the service
- Check with Chef or Sous Chef after service on which foods will be reutilized.
- Ensure that all equipment is cleaned properly and is maintained to avoid any possible injuries to staff
- Any other duties that may, from time to time, be requested
Qualifications
- 1 ? 3 years Prep Cook experience
- Food Handlers training certification
