Make your mark while you grow your career! As a Planner/Scheduler, reporting to the Planning lead, you will provide project management support to the Thermal and Conventional business unit. In this role, you will proactively plan capital projects by developing and maintaining the project schedules, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, tracking and reporting project performance, and proactively provide planning solutions.
- Job location: Calgary, Alberta
- Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts
- Safety sensitive position: No

Key Accountabilities:
- Develop summary and detailed level schedules for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction phases of the project using scheduling software - Primavera
- Validate and ensure that schedule logics, activity durations, resource loading, float values, and critical path are sound and realistic
- Provide progress and schedule updates with thorough analysis on a regular basis; Work closely with the project team and keep them aware of project progress, schedule performance values, look-ahead, variances/ delays, schedule critical path, and near-critical activities
- Work with supply management and vendors to track purchase orders and contracts; working with engineering, fabrication, and construction contractors to update schedules and progress on a regular basis
- Coordinate with contractors to set up the Earned Value based progress system and progress reporting
What You Bring to the Role:
- 2-5 years of Planning/ Scheduling experience managing capital projects in oil and gas industry
- Working experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management is preferred
- Planning/ Scheduling certification (PSP, PMI-SP, or others) is considered an asset
