Labourer – Utilities
AUXILIARY – 6 MONTH TERM
$30.49 per hour (2024 rates) plus 14% in lieu of benefits
The District of North Saanich invites applications for the position of Labourer in the Utilities department. The position would be full-time and temporary from March to the end of August.
This position involves general labouring work of an unskilled or limited semi-skilled nature involving the performance of a variety of manual tasks related to operations and maintenance work in a municipal public works setting. The incumbent will perform a variety of manual labouring tasks related to the maintenance, operation and construction of municipal waterworks and sanitary sewer systems
If you have the following characteristics and qualifications, we would like to hear from you!
This position requires the completion of the tenth (10th) school grade, preferably supplemented by courses related to the work; previous experience as a manual labourer in the construction industry or a local government setting; the ability to acquire and maintain a valid traffic control certificate;; and possession of a valid B.C driver’s license (Class 5).
This position is a Union position and is subject to the terms and conditions in the Collective Agreement between District of North Saanich and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 374.
