As a Service Planner, you’ll develop repair scopes, create accurate quotes, and coordinate with service teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery. This role combines strategic planning, customer engagement, and operational excellence to deliver exceptional service outcomes.
Job Description:
- Manage intake, scope development, quoting, and communication throughout the repair lifecycle.
- Develop accurate estimates and quotes based on engine history, warranty status, and customer requirements.
- Create detailed work breakdown structures, define tasks and resource needs, and manage timelines and deliverables.
- Collaborate with service supervisors and technicians to ensure scope alignment and track progress.
- Assess technical justification for warranty and goodwill claims, and align with account teams on commercial considerations.
- Identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities, applying project management best practices.
- Work closely with Product Support, Equipment Sales, and Administrative teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Track and communicate the financial health of ongoing service jobs, ensuring transparency and solution-oriented updates.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Prepare and manage repair scopes and quotes.
- Participate in pre/mid/post job meetings with service teams.
- Monitor timelines, deliverables, and financial performance of service jobs.
- Collaborate across Finning’s regional network for component movement and scope validation.
- Complete documentation for service requests and work order transitions.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in technical service, parts, warranty, or repair is preferred.
- Strong customer relationship management skills and ability to manage complex interactions.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of Finning/CAT product lines and repair processes.
- Project management experience; PMP or Blue Seal certification is an asset.
- Financial acumen for estimating accuracy and job profitability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and relevant software platforms.
Important:
- This position is based out of our Red Deer location.
- Permanent, full-time role.
- Monday – Friday, 5x2 shift.
