We are looking for an Analytics Consultant to join BrokerLink and work out of our Toronto, ON or Calgary, AB Office on a Permanent FT Basis.

What the Role Entails:

This role is focused on supporting our Commercial Insurance business units, including, but not limited to;

  • Support and collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including front line managers, human resources, finance, and technology by advancing current reporting and analytics processes.
  • Supporting project initiatives by leading and/or participating in roll out activities to front line managers and teams.
  • Manipulate and analyze large dataset using SQL, Excel, and Python to identify business opportunities, provide recommendations and work with the leadership team to implement changes
  • Develop, test, implement, and update reports within Power BI.
  • Creating data mining architecture/models using statistical reporting and data analysis methodologies.
  • Apply your knowledge of database platforms to drive our usage of advanced analytics to improve our broker and customer experience.
  • Drive change by improving work processes and making substantive observations, conclusions and recommendations to various stakeholders, including our senior management team

The Successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, business management, finance, computer science, statistics, or related discipline
  • 3+ years’ working experience working - insurance or financial industry experience would be considered an asset
  • Analytical mind and strategic thinking skills coupled with results orientation
  • Skilled communicator, ability to interact with multiple teams and departments and adapt information to fit the audience
  • Strong technical understanding to challenge the business
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing and growing environment
  • Solid understanding/use of MS Excel, SQL, Power BI, MS Access skillset.
  • Programming knowledge: SAS, R, Python, skills are desirable, but not required
