Job Description Summary
Reporting to Director of Warehouse & Inventory Control this position impacts the organization by providing support to the warehouse in a Management capacity and ensures it delivers upon customer expectations. The role also provides local coordination of implementations and ongoing servicing as well as being the local liaison to the client regarding servicing concerns and deficiencies in support of Head Office. In addition this position also provides local quality and service compliance audit/verification of Apple Express’s (AEX) brokers supporting our client base.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Job Key Contributions/Task):
- Provide leadership at the warehouse and deliver on all customer SLA’s, KPI’s and commercials agreements.
- Ensure that we are compliant with all EHS regulations and requirements in Apple Express local offices.
- Ensure that all Operational Metrics are met or exceeded in the warehouse.
- Local coordination of roll outs of new procedures, policies, technology and initiatives or new client implementations in the field.
- Liaison with local customer contacts and their clients as part of client implementation and new vendor/broker familiarization;
- Work with internal customers and SSL’s to evaluate, identify and recommend vendors and products to support current practices and new business.
- Assist with client portal training as required; and as onsite AEX representative as requested.
- Support the 3PL Agent Network to ensure superior performance across all sites.
- Participate in recruitment and screening activities of brokers and vendors and provide local market knowledge on broker/vendor rates.
- Maintain vendor/broker contingency pool for specialty healthcare servicing in coordination with local AEX office where applicable.
- Deliver vendor/broker training and familiarization of client facilities, procedures and service obligations as well as relevant Health and Safety training. Complete all training related documentation/certification and forward to Head Office repository.
- Ensure that broker/vendor are in full compliance with AEX standards and obligations (refer to Broker & Vendor manual) and with all pre-defined work instructions and pertinent legislation related to specialty healthcare service delivery on behalf of AEX.
- Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales.
- Qualify prospects against company criteria for ideal customers and sales.
- Cultivate strong relationships with third party and partner companies that may be required to deliver full solutions to customers
- Provide feedback to company management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers by extending company offerings
- Perform detailed spend, Total Cost to serve, and other analysis and market research to support the sourcing process and ensure that “Company” remains cost competitive in the markets it chooses to serve.
- Responsible for meeting financial objectives and have some experience with financial statements and P and L’s
- Work closely with Accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate payment of all vendors/brokers.

Qualifications and experience:
- Post-secondary education, degree or diploma in a related discipline (Required).
- Minimum of 5+ years work experience (Required).
- 2+ years team leader or supervisory experience (Required).
- Ability to act as a liaison between local customer and Apple Express operations.
- Experience and knowledge of Warehousing, Transportation and Healthcare industries (Asset).
- Experience and knowledge of Warehousing Systems (Asset).
- Inventory management expertise including onsite audit (Asset).
- Experience with quality programs and initiatives (Asset).
- Experience with Tier 1 customers (Asset).
- Proven success in prevention, training, and incident management.
- Self-motivated, with a desire to own decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.
- Experience working in a fast paced multi-functional environment.
- Able to travel and able to work flexible hours and days.
- Must possess a valid Canadian driver's license in good standing.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other technical software related to transportation is required.
Language Skills:
English is required for this position. This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
