About the role

As a Senior Accountant you will be a key team member in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, working closely with senior members of the finance team. Your goal will be to ensure the timely and accurate completion of consolidated financial information that supports effective decision-making. Your success will be measured by the precision of reporting, adherence to deadlines, and the value you bring to the company’s financial operations.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the monthly close, consolidation, and reporting process by preparing complex entries and reviewing others.
  • Review and maintain monthly account reconciliations and perform other key control activities.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements and supporting notes in compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Review and analyze month-end financial results to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Act as the key liaison between General Accounting and subsidiaries/process owners regarding consolidation matters.
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities to enhance accounting processes.
  • Assist with internal and external audit coordination, ensuring timely responses and documentation.
  • Implement ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting) guidelines within the General Accounting process.
  • Support special projects, additional responsibilities, and apply financial accounting standards while resolving departures from policies.

Your Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience dealing with multiple priorities and deadlines / proven ability to meet hard deadlines
  • Proficient with MS Office applications
  • Able to adjust communication style to work effectively with employees at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven ability to maintain good working relationships with stakeholders including senior leaders

Your Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance; and professional designation such as CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) is required
  • 4+ years of experience in finance, and/or accounting
  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS and other accounting principles, complemented by strong knowledge of financial operations and systems
