Job Description We are partnering with a well-established organization operating in an asset-intensive industry to find two experienced Senior Financial Analysts, Operations for permanent opportunities based in Toronto. This role sits within the FP&A group and is embedded as a true finance business partner to the operations leadership team.
The organization is in an active growth phase and the FP&A function is playing a central role in supporting that expansion. You will own financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for a large and complex operational budget, working side by side with operations leaders who rely on you to translate the numbers into decisions. If you are a strong FP&A professional who enjoys getting close to the business and can hold your own with senior leadership, this role is for you.
Responsibilities Partner with operations management and senior leadership to develop forecasts, reporting, and analysis that directly influence business and financial decisions Build and maintain financial models across capital, inventory, and operating expense to support sound decision-making Develop and enhance weekly and monthly KPI reporting to drive efficiency and surface meaningful operational insight Support vendor management and cost negotiations, including maintaining a working knowledge of key supplier agreements Incorporate asset lifecycle assumptions and operational planning inputs into long range financial forecasts Assist with long range planning across operational assets and inventory Act as the finance lead on growth-related projects within the operations group Establish and maintain financial and operational controls across the operations group Partner with the accounting team monthly on accrual reviews, capital expenditure tracking, and variance explanations Lead monthly variance analysis and work with operations management and accounting to identify and resolve gaps to plan Become the internal expert on the FP&A planning platform for the operations group Identify and drive continuous improvements to existing processes and reporting
What We're Looking For Core FP&A background is the primary requirement SFA-level experience, or a high-performing FA with 3 or more years in seat who is ready to step up Experience owning large, complex operational budgets in a business partner capacity Proven ability to work alongside operations leaders who are not finance professionals and communicate clearly at every level of the organization Strong communicator who can read the room and adapt their style from front-line staff through to VP-level leadership CPA or CFA designation, or actively in progress Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency Self-starter who can deliver with minimal supervision
