As a Field Adjuster, Property Claims you will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and accurate claims processing for property-related incidents. You will work closely with policyholders, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders to assess and determine the extent of property damage, evaluate coverage, and negotiate settlements.
Please be advised that this role requires travel within Edmonton and surrounding areas, a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
#What you will be doing
- Conduct thorough investigations of property damage claims, including site visits, interviews and evidence collection.
- Analyze policy coverage to determine the scope of insurance claims and verify the validity of claims.
- Collaborate with various parties, including policyholders and contractors, to gather relevant information and assess property damage accurately.
- Utilize estimating programs such as Xactimate and XactAnalysis to ensure precision
- Negotiate settlements with policyholders, maintaining a balance between company guidelines and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, claim assessments, and recommend settlement amounts.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal company policies throughout the claims process.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, documentation, and reports in accordance with company guidelines and industry standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries, providing status updates, and addressing concerns from claimants, policyholders, and other stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in claims management.
#What you bring to the team
- Minimum of two (2) years of property claims handling experience
- Post-secondary education and/or CIP designation are considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of property insurance policies, coverage, and claims procedures.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with claimants, policyholders and legal representatives.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with claims management software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.
- High level of attention to detail, organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Experience with Xactimate and XactAnalysis is preferred.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- High degree of emotional intelligence and empathy

In the first year, success will be measured by the ability to independently assess and evaluate a variety of property damage claims, demonstrating a strong understanding of policy coverage, accurate documentation, and effective communication with stakeholders. They should consistently meet or exceed established targets for claim resolution while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and adherence to industry regulations.
