The Avon Maitland District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the positions of Principal and Vice Principal in our elementary and secondary schools.
The Board is seeking qualified and experienced educators to join the Principal and Vice Vice-Principal pool. Candidates who have demonstrated strong leadership in previous positions and who meet the qualification requirements below are invited to apply.
Interviews for elementary and secondary Principal and Vice-Principal pool positions will be held throughout the year, please follow the instructions below to apply.
Qualifications - Principal
Candidates making an application for a position of Principal will have:
Ontario School Principal's Certificate Parts 1 and 2 (which requires a Master's Degree or double specialist) completed at time of application; Recommendation from his/her immediate supervisor; Demonstration of successful educational leadership experience; Superior administrative and organizational skills; and, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications - Vice Principal
Candidates making an application for a position of Vice-Principal will have:
Leadership experience at the school or board level; At the time of interviews, registered for or completed Principal Qualification Program Part 1 certification; Recommendation from his/her immediate supervisor; Superior administrative and organizational skills; and, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Note - A criminal background check will be part of the recruitment process.
