It will establish a 3-month eligibility list

As a Critical Care Paramedic, this position will be based in Whitehorse and be required to provide coverage for shortages in communities with various crews and working a variety of shifts based on operational requirements.

This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

The Yukon's Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) team delivers a wide scope of pre-hospital care. We deliver medical interventions, treatments, and quality care in every corner of the Yukon. Leadership, dedication, and partnership guides our work.

This opportunity

Reporting to the Superintendent, Air Ambulance the Critical Care Paramedic will employ professional Critical Care Life Support skills to provide pre-hospital and inter-facility treatment and transportation to the general population. Evaluates the patient's clinical condition and performs detailed assessments in order to establish a treatment plan in support of optimal patient care. Works in environments where there is no medical support and where transport times routinely exceed four hours.

Essential qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Current CCP/ACP license or certification with a paramedic governing body in Canada without conditions or restrictions Recent experience delivering pre-hospital emergency care at the Advanced Life Support (ALS) level

Conditions of employment

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.

TB Screening, Security clearance including vulnerable sector check, Valid class 4 driver's license and Maintaining current CCP and/or ACP certification.
