Youth Support Workers

Nelson District Youth Centre - City of Nelson Competition #25YC72

The City of Nelson is currently seeking Casual Youth Support Workers to join our team at the Nelson and District Youth Centre (NDYC).

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Youth Support Worker, you will help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children and youth can participate in a variety of activities . Working collaboratively with NDYC staff, you will assist in the planning and delivery of recreati onal, cultural, and developmental programs, as well as special events and out-of-school activities for children and youth of all ages.

This is a casual, on-call position, with shifts scheduled as needed between 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 10

  • 1 year recent, related experience

  • Basic First Aid

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Criminal Records and Vulnerable Sector Check.

COMPENSATION: $18.27 per hour, per the Collective Agreement
HOURS: Casual I Between 12:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
DAYS: Monday - Saturday
