About the role

Job Title: Casual Research Assistant II (Phlebotomy & Research Support)

Summary
We are seeking a Casual Research Assistant to support clinical and community-based research projects on an as-needed basis. The primary responsibility for this role is phlebotomy (blood collection, labeling, and processing). Additional duties will include research coordination and general assistant tasks to ensure smooth project operations. This role is ideal for individuals looking for flexible, intermittent hours while contributing to meaningful clinical research.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Perform phlebotomy: venipuncture, labeling, processing, and preparing biological samples for delivery to laboratories.

Assist with participant visits, including consent, vital signs, interviews, and general clinical procedures.

Collect and record study-related data (surveys, interviews, electronic data entry).

Maintain participant records, ensure confidentiality, and follow strict research protocols.

Support study logistics, including scheduling, participant communication, and follow-up coordination.

Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing study documents, reimbursement forms, and study reports.

Collaborate with research team members, community sites, and external partners as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

Phlebotomy certification, training, or equivalent hands-on experience (required).

Previous research or healthcare experience is an asset.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to follow research protocols, maintain confidentiality, and work independently.

Flexible availability to work on a casual, as-needed basis.
