The Opportunity

IGM Financial is seeking a Director, Pod Owner – Technology Strategy & Delivery to lead a cross-functional technology team responsible for delivering business outcomes, strategic priorities, and measurable value. This role serves as the strategic technology leader for a business capability, owning the vision, roadmap, priorities, and outcomes that drive customer, advisor, and business success. The Director, Pod Owner is accountable for defining and prioritizing work, making informed trade-off decisions, and ensuring technology investments align with business objectives, portfolio strategy, and long-term platform sustainability. This role balances value, risk, quality, capacity, and delivery speed to maximize outcomes while maintaining operational excellence. Success in this role is achieved through influence, collaboration, and leadership. You will work closely with business leaders, engineering, architecture, delivery, product, platform, and practice partners to align technology execution with strategic priorities and enterprise objectives. This is an opportunity to play a critical leadership role within IGM Technology's modern delivery model, helping shape strategic direction while enabling teams to deliver high-quality outcomes that create meaningful business value.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy, Roadmap & Outcome Ownership Own the vision, roadmap, priorities, and outcomes for a business capability, ensuring alignment with business objectives and portfolio strategy. Define and continuously refine priorities and backlog investments based on value, risk, capacity, quality, and strategic impact. Translate business goals into clear, actionable outcomes and delivery priorities. Ensure teams and stakeholders have a shared understanding of objectives, expected outcomes, and success measures.

Strategic Leadership & Decision-Making

Serve as the accountable leader for pod strategy, outcomes, and value realization. Make informed prioritization and trade-off decisions across scope, timing, quality, risk, and technical sustainability. Influence strategic decisions across business and technology stakeholders to maximize customer, advisor, and enterprise outcomes. Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and dependencies and proactively shape roadmap decisions to deliver long-term value. Provide thought leadership and recommendations in governance and planning forums, communicating risks, alternatives, and outcome impacts to support informed decision-making.

Delivery Leadership & Execution

Enable the team to deliver iteratively with transparency, accountability, quality, and discipline. Provide timely decisions and direction to support efficient delivery execution. Manage cross-team, cross-platform, and vendor dependencies that could impact delivery outcomes. Remove barriers and resolve issues that impede progress toward business objectives.

Quality, Stability & Technical Health

Be accountable for ensuring quality, stability, risk management, and technical health are appropriately prioritized within the team. Balance delivery speed with long-term sustainability, resiliency, and platform health. Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Platform, and Delivery leaders to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned to technology standards and best practices.

People Leadership & Team Effectiveness

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus. Lead and develop team members through coaching, feedback, performance management, and career development conversations. Ensure effective onboarding, role clarity, and strong ways of working within the team. Partner with Product, Delivery, and Practice leaders to identify capability gaps, support talent development, and plan for future skill needs. Promote engagement, inclusion, and a positive team environment that enables high performance.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

Build strong partnerships across business, technology, delivery, engineering, and vendor stakeholders. Communicate progress, outcomes, risks, dependencies, and decisions with clarity and transparency. Represent the team in governance forums, executive discussions, demonstrations, and planning activities. Drive alignment among stakeholders while balancing business value, delivery feasibility, risk, and long-term sustainability.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Leadership & Delivery Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. 7–10 years of progressive experience in technology, product, delivery, or transformation leadership roles. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing outcomes across multiple stakeholder groups. Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with delivery execution.

Product, Strategy & Delivery Management

Experience defining roadmaps, prioritizing work, and delivering outcomes in agile or iterative delivery environments. Strong understanding of product management, technology delivery, and value realization principles. Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, risks, dependencies, and competing priorities.

Strategic Leadership & Decision-Making

Experience making outcome-focused decisions and navigating complex trade-offs. Ability to influence leaders and stakeholders without direct authority. Strong business acumen, problem-solving capability, and decision-making skills.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills. Experience presenting recommendations, risks, and delivery health to senior leaders and governance forums. Ability to build trusted partnerships across business and technology functions. The expected annual base salary range for this role is $146,500 - $192,500, which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
