Position: Slitter Assistant

Location: Mississauga (TOPPAN Flexible Packaging | 1691 Matheson Blvd East) Pay Rate: $24.91 CAD/hour

Shift: 12-hour rotating continental shifts (overtime as required) Summary Description Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Slitter Assistant supports slitting operations by preparing materials, staging rolls, assisting operators, and ensuring production orders are executed safely, efficiently, and accurately.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist Slitter Operators with secondary slitting operations to improve efficiency
• Move and stage rolls for slitting operations
• Ensure the department is supplied with necessary materials
• Cut cores, empty trim and trash bins, and reclaim rolls on rewinder equipment
• Pack finished rolls with proper labels, boxes, and pallets
• Collect samples for Quality Assurance and Customer Service as specified on work orders
• Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Review production schedules and prepare required materials
• Support proper execution of production orders
• Keep recyclables, cores, and cardboard organized
• Operate slitter equipment as needed
• Fill in during PTO coverage or absences when required

We’d Love to Hear From You If

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent education
• You have 6 to 12 months of relevant work experience or are eager to learn
• You have strong reading and math skills
• You can read rulers and measure in inches (to 1/16"), centimeters, and millimeters
• You understand work orders and customer specifications
• You can read and interpret production instructions
• You can climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
• Forklift or lift truck experience is a plus
