Bevo Farms Ltd is the largest supplier of propagated plants in North America, providing greenhouses, field farms, nurseries, and wholesalers across the continent with healthy, vigorous, pest-and-disease-free plants. Bevo Farms Ltd operates three sites in the lower mainland of British Columbia and two facilities in the province of Alberta.
SUMMARY
We are seeking an HR Generalist based in Edmonton with a strong focus on supporting our Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program at this site, while also providing general HR, OHS, and administrative support across Alberta operations that includes our site at Medicine Hat. This role reports to the HR Manager. It combines HR administration, employee relations, and compliance with hands-on coordination for foreign worker onboarding, housing, and program compliance. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities across HR and operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Administration
-
Act as main contact for TFWs in Edmonton, addressing questions and resolving issues promptly.

Coordinate LMIA and work permit applications, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.

Manage housing logistics: inspections, room assignments, maintenance, and occupancy tracking.

Arrange transportation for appointments (medical, banking, etc.).

Support onboarding new TFWs, including documentation (SIN, banking, benefits, etc.).

Monitor visa and work permit expiration dates and initiate renewals as required.

Collaborate with payroll, benefits, and operations teams to align staffing needs with LMIA submissions.

Support to Human Resources

Serve as a point of contact for all employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.

Assist with recruitment, interviews, and onboarding for both local and TFW positions.

Conduct and document workplace investigations when required.

Maintain HRIS records, personnel files, and compliance documentation.

Support HR reporting, performance reviews, and policy implementation.

Health, Safety, and Compliance
-
Support site-level OHS programs, ensuring compliance with Alberta legislation.

Participate in safety inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking.
-
Coordinate training and maintain records for certifications and renewals.

General Office Administration
-
Provide administrative support for the Edmonton & Medicine Hat office, including scheduling, supplies, and communications.

Assist with internal events and team-building initiatives.

Maintain organized filing and document control systems.

Other tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS
-
2+ years of experience in HR, administration, or similar roles.

Knowledge of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, Alberta employment standards, and Alberta OHS requirements.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and follow-up skills.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and possess own transportation.
SALARY

$65,000 CAD annual base salary
