Job Description
Eataly’s bustling marketplaces feature a rich variety of unique, high-quality Italian and local products. The Market Manager oversees the Grocery and Housewares departments. Reports to the General Manager of Retail; manages the Grocery and Housewares team members.

Organizes and directs the store’s Grocery and Housewares departments to maximize profitability while upholding the company’s mission, values, policies, quality and guest experience standards

Manages the Grocery and Housewares teams: hires, schedules, trains, motivates, submits payroll, evaluates
-
Creates the monthly promotion grid and designs the layout and promotional spots in the store with saleable merchandise according to Eataly’s policies
-
Maintains an orderly store aesthetic: ensures that only saleable merchandise is placed on the grocery shelves and promptly handles deleted, expired or otherwise non-saleable merchandise
-
Monitors stock levels and orders or requisitions supplies and merchandise as needed
-
Processes delivery orders, unloads stock trucks from distribution centers, and generates monthly reports
-
Communicates and coordinates with the Marketing and Facilities departments on updates or issues with the overall layout of product and fixtures in the store

Analyzes financial data and develops strategies to increase efficiencies and drive sales

Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of retail management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Solid analytical skills
- Experience purchasing and managing inventory
- Knowledge of Italian products and brands
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office

Availability to work a flexible schedule sometimes including evenings, weekends and holidays

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting

Ability to operate equipment such as a hand truck or cash register as needed
