About the role

Casual Transitional Support Professional within Pickering, ON which includes days, evenings, weekends and overnight shifts. Casual wage is $25.44. This location is not on a typical bus route. Full G license and personal automobile insurance preferred. Experience with Behaviour Support Plans, supporting people interacting with the Criminal Justice System, dual diagnosis, autism, and FASD. Current NVCI, Safe Management, and First Aid/CPR an asset.

TRANSITIONAL RELIEF SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

The Transitional Relief Support provides call-in or back-fill support to people supported. They assist with activities of daily living and work within the protocols of the location. They work with other employees on shift to provide supports and services to people. Working within Karis Disability Services’ Service Principles, the Transitional Relief Support considers each person’s intrinsic value. As part of the clinical duties, the Transitional Relief Support may be required to provide reports on clinical interventions. They liaise with clinical professionals, collect appropriate data, and actively carry out appropriately prescribed programs & treatments to address the clinical, behavioral and/or mental health needs of people supported by Karis Disability Services. They complete administrative duties and responsibilities as required or assigned. The Transitional Relief Support will respect and uphold the Values, Vision and Mission of Karis Disability Services, demonstrating the highest standards of courtesy and respect in their dealings with other employees, persons supported and both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Educational requirement of Developmental Service Worker or apprenticeship actively in process, Child and Youth Care Diploma or apprenticeship actively in process, or Diploma or Degree in a Related Human Services Field.
  • current valid G driver's license
  • Access to reliable transportation
