About the role
The Centre for Neurology Studies (CNS), a neuroscience research site in Surrey, BC, is seeking a licensed physician to provide limited-scope medical oversight for clinical trials involving psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and other investigational mental health treatments.
This is a contract, hourly role ideal for a physician interested in supporting innovative clinical research on a flexible basis. The role involves minimal clinical responsibility (no prescribing, no long-term follow-up) and is focused on regulatory-compliant medical presence during trial assessments and dosing sessions.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site medical oversight for full-day study visits (approximately 1-4 x per month, 9-10 hours per shift)
- Be available for brief, in-person medical safety checks (~15–20 minutes per visit), as needed between full study days (up to 1-5 times a month
- Support regulatory compliance and documentation of physician presence (Health Canada, ICH-GCP)
- Sign off on required medical source documents (e.g., physical exams, safety clearances)
- Collaborate with the PI and clinical research team to ensure participant safety
Qualifications
- MD or equivalent, licensed to practice in British Columbia (CPSBC, independent or provisional)
- Comfortable in a research oversight role with limited-scope involvement
- Previous experience with mental health, psychedelics, or clinical trials is an asset but not required
- Must be willing to be listed on the Delegation of Duties Log (DoDL) and support inspections if applicable
