About the role

- Ensure that you work in compliance of the Occupational Health and Safety Act including but not limited to all requirements outlined in Section 28.
- Review, understand and comply with all policies and procedures in the KSR Health and Safety Manual.
- Ensure viability of the Health and Safety Program with emphasis on continuous improvement
- Implement and provide training on all Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain a Workplace Wellness Program
- Perform daily Safety Audits that verify all facets of the Health and Safety Program are successful and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Act as the Management Representative for the Joint Health and Safety Committee
- Record Health and Safety meeting minutes, coordinate improvement activities and update top management on all Health and Safety concerns.
- Manage all MOL visits, inquiries and respond to any orders issued by the Inspector
- Investigate all workplace injuries, illnesses and incidences, establish the cause and implement corrective actions
- Facilitate and manage the Return to Work program for all staff, ensuring suitability and sustainability, and monitor progress
- Participate in all Return to Work meetings with the WSIB Return to Work Specialist
- Act as the liaison between the WSIB, the WSIB consultants and the injured worker
- Manage all non-occupational injury requests for accommodation claims.
- Complete risk assessments on all plant equipment as required and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Complete workplace inspections and process audits as required and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Quality Responsibilities:
- Maintain quality standards on all products
- Exercise compliance with the Quality Management Systems when implementing and performing all company procedures
Environmental Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating and maintaining the EMS in compliance with ISO 14001 standard
- Coordinate all activities to comply with EMS policies and procedures and prepare for external audits
- Development and delivery of EMS Awareness Training to all staff
- Implement environmental improvement practices and commit to the continuous improvement of the EMS
- Report on the performances of the EMS to top management for review and a basis for improvement of the system
- Review of all EMS policies and procedures and overall objectives at defined intervals
- Manage all MOE visits, inquiries and respond to any orders issued by the Inspector
- Act as an environmental liaison with outside environmental agencies, consultants and contractors
- Internal Auditor for ISO 14001
General Responsibilities:
- Internal Trainer for WHMIS, TDG, Overhead Crane Operation and Forklift certification
- Foster a positive team environment and assist coworkers as required
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned by management
