Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Writer role based in Winnipeg, MB. The Writer will develop clear, engaging written content for various audiences and channels, such as program descriptions, web pages, internal communications, and promotional materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching topics, drafting and revising content, collaborating with subject matter experts, and aligning messaging with Seneca Polytechnic’s brand and strategic priorities. The role also involves proofreading and editing for accuracy, consistency, and tone, as well as meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously. The Writer will work closely with communications, marketing, and academic teams to ensure all materials support institutional goals and reflect inclusive, student-centered values. Qualifications Strong writing and editing abilities, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and consistent tone for diverse audiences. Experience producing content for educational, institutional, or professional settings, including web, print, and internal communications. Proficiency in research and fact-checking, including the ability to interpret complex information and present it in accessible language. Familiarity with basic content and document management tools (e.g., word processing software, collaborative platforms, CMS) and standard office applications. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts. Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory, and accessible communication practices. Post-secondary education in communications, English, journalism, writing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in an academic or public sector environment is an asset.
