The Opportunity
Integrated Youth Services (IYS) is a dynamic pan-Canadian and international movement that aims to build effective, youth-focused and integrated services for mental health, substance use and related issues. The IWK Mental Health and Addictions program is leading and serving as the backbone organization for Integrated Youth Services, Nova Scotia which is a model based on community partnerships to better serve young people in our province. Informed by a national integrated youth services model, IYS Nova Scotia brings together key partners to offer low barrier, easy to access, youth friendly services, designed with youth and community where youth aged 12 to 25 can access a range of high quality, integrated services. In this model, multisectoral partners from mental health and addictions, opportunities and social development, education, primary care and social service organizations work collaboratively with youth and families to address youth needs in many areas of their lives.
