PCIC has an immediate opening for a Contract LPG Origination Advisor (12+ months)
Position Overview:
PetroChina International (Canada) Trading Ltd. is seeking a dynamic Contract Origination Advisor (12+ months) to drive business development in Western Canada’s LPG markets. This role focuses on originating, structuring, and executing deals, with a strong emphasis on market expertise, client relationship management. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with practical skills to build the Company a robust presence in Canadian and international LPG value chains.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Business Development team to develop Canadian LPG supply and export strategies based on existing and potential LPG export capacity in Western Canada. Identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities related to the gathering, processing, transportation, storage, export, and trading of LPG. Develop, maintain, and strengthen strategic relationships with natural gas liquids (NGL) suppliers, logistical service providers, and LPG exporters. Conduct market research on domestic and international LPG supply and demand, and establish strong working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure, negotiate, and execute short-term and long-term LPG supply agreements, project development agreements, and logistics service agreements. Lead commercial negotiations with producers, marketers, and end users. Manage the end-to-end commercial lifecycle of spot LPG cargo transactions, including origination, negotiation, execution, logistics coordination, and contract administration. Monitor North American and international LPG market fundamentals, pricing, freight, and regulatory developments.
Qualification Requirements
Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.
Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience in the natural gas liquids (NGL) and/or LPG industry in Canada and/or the United States. Strong understanding of LPG market fundamentals, products, specifications, production, gathering, processing, transportation, storage, domestic and international regulations, tariffs, and commercial operations. Experience with waterborne LPG trading, shipping, and international transportation is considered a strong asset. Demonstrated ability to independently develop, maintain, and expand strategic business relationships. Proven experience structuring and negotiating complex commercial transactions involving commodity purchase and sale agreements, equity investments, financial derivatives, and project financing arrangements. Excellent commercial negotiation, analytical, communication, and relationship management skills.
