About the role
Your Opportunity:
Referral, Access, Advice, Placement, Information, Destination (RAAPID) provides health care providers with a single point of access to assist them in accessing expert advice and transport coordination when patients require transfer. The Admin Support IV at RAAPID must possess expertise that supports the facilitation of consultations and coordination of patient movement. The Admin Support IV at RAAPID is in regular contact with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. To succeed in this role, the incumbent must possess excellent customer service skills, must have excellent telephone etiquette, must have a firm grasp of multiple forms of information technology along with a sound working knowledge of medical terminology. This position provides administrative assistance to the RAAPID staff and clients of RAAPID through chart and records management, interdisciplinary communication, report writing, patient registration, and other duties as deemed appropriate by Manager/designate.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:
Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education in unit clerk program. Experience as an employee (not a student) in a hospital acute clinical setting in an administrative support position (e.g., unit clerk). Exemplary word processing skills with the ability to type at 35 words per minute. Trained in Connect Care. Experience in a hospital environment conversing with physicians and allied health. This is not an entry level position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Unit Clerk experience in an Emergency Department setting. Telephone interaction experience.
