Title : Senior Power BI Developer (Development & Support Lead) Position Type: Full Time Location: Remote

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer to lead end-to-end BI solution delivery across development and support engagements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering business requirements, designing scalable data models, developing interactive dashboards, implementing data integration solutions, managing Power BI environments, and providing production support. The role requires strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, data warehousing, and stakeholder management to ensure successful project delivery and ongoing operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities: Power BI Development Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Power BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards. Create complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs. Develop and optimize data models using star and snowflake schemas. Implement row-level security (RLS) and workspace security models. Design visually compelling and business-friendly dashboards. Perform report performance tuning and optimization.

Data Integration & Modelling: Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using Power Query, SQL, Dataflows, and other integration tools. Work with structured and unstructured data sources including SQL Server, Azure SQL, SharePoint, Excel, CSV, APIs, and cloud platforms. Design and maintain data warehouses, data marts, and semantic models. Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance standards.

Project Delivery: Participate in requirement gathering sessions with business stakeholders. Translate business requirements into technical specifications. Develop technical design documents and solution architectures. Manage end-to-end project implementation from design through deployment. Perform unit testing, SIT, UAT support, and production deployment activities. Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies for project execution.

Production Support & Operations: Provide L2/L3 support for Power BI environments and production incidents. Troubleshoot report refresh failures, gateway issues, connectivity errors, and performance bottlenecks. Monitor scheduled refreshes, datasets, workspaces, and gateways. Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes. Coordinate with infrastructure, database, and application teams to resolve issues. Ensure SLA adherence and timely incident resolution.

Power BI Administration: Manage Power BI Service, Workspaces, Apps, and Deployment Pipelines. Configure and maintain On-Premises Data Gateways. Implement security, governance, and compliance standards. Manage capacity utilization and performance monitoring. Perform environment migrations and version control activities. Stakeholder Management Collaborate with business users, project managers, architects, and technical teams. Provide technical guidance and best practices. Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and user training. Prepare project status reports and executive presentations

Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service Advanced DAX and Power Query (M Language) SQL Server, Azure SQL Database Data Modeling and Data Warehousing Concepts Microsoft Fabric (Preferred) Power BI Gateway Administration REST APIs Integration SharePoint Online Integration Performance Tuning and Troubleshooting

Database Skills: Advanced SQL Query Writing Views and Functions Query Optimization Data Warehousing Concepts Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field. 6+ years of BI development experience. 4+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience. Experience working in Azure and Microsoft Fabric environments. Experience supporting large-scale enterprise BI solutions.
