Location: Comox, BC
Compensation: $17.85 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience
Shamrock Animal Hospitalin Comox, BC, is looking for a full-timeVeterinary Assistantto join our team. This position works 40 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care, with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.
In this position, you will be supporting our Doctors and Technicians team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining medical records
- Preparing the surgical suite and surgical patients.
- Filling prescriptions.
- Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
- Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets and general hospital maintenance, including cleaning kennels
What’s required?
- Exceptional client service skills that build trust and loyalty with clients
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with a dynamic and diverse team
- Compassion and a nurturing attitude when providing care to clients and patients
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in stressful situations
- Positive outlook and enthusiasm
- Initiative in carrying out assignments independently
- Previous veterinary education or a certificate is preferred
