As we expand, we are seeking an Engineering & Design Manager to build and scale a high-performing technical function in a solutions-focused, growth-driven environment.

The Opportunity
In a hybrid environment, the Engineering & Design Manager will lead the engineering and design teams, own technical standards, and ensure engineering excellence directly translates into customer value. You will collaborate across Operations, Product, Sales, and Project teams to align technical delivery with business strategy.
You Will Be Trusted To Lead & Develop People
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and designers.
- Build a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Manage team performance, capability development, and succession planning.
Own Technical Direction
- Set technical standards, engineering processes, and best practices.
- Lead key technical decisions supporting product evolution, project execution, and commercial growth.
- Serve as the technical authority across all product lines and project scopes.
Engage With Customers & Internal Stakeholders
- Lead customer-facing technical engagement including pre-sales support, presentations, and solutioning.
- Support post-sale implementation, training, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with Cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on requirements, delivery, and product development.

Core Responsibilities
Customer Experience
- Champion a customer-centric approach to engineering and design.
- Provide pre-sales technical expertise and guidance to Sales and Business Development.
- Support new energy initiatives (e.g., hydrogen, biofuels).
Technical Leadership
- Oversee key technical deliverables and high-risk engineering decisions.
- Ensure adherence to engineering discipline best practices and emerging technologies.
- Participate in and lead design and technical review meetings.
Engineering Management
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve engineering and design processes.
- Ensure designs and projects meet customer requirements, specifications, and regulatory standards.
- Provide engineering support across FEED, detailed design, manufacturing, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Review and validate engineering work by internal teams or external contractors.
Professional Practice
- Serve as the Responsible Member for Sky Eye’s Permits to Practice.
- Ensure compliance with Engineering & Geoscience Professions Acts.
- Lead audits, maintain PPMP adherence, and expand professional practice into new jurisdictions.
Design & Drafting Oversight
- Manage design workflows to ensure high-quality drawings, models, and documentation.
- Support standardization and continuous improvement of design practices.
- Ensure design deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with customer expectations.
Process, Policy & Organizational Development
- Develop and maintain organizational policies, standard work procedures, and process flows.
- Create a scalable organizational structure that supports efficiency and growth.
- Support business continuity planning and risk mitigation initiatives.
Resource Planning & Efficiency
- Work with planning teams to forecast resources, materials, and schedule needs.
- Support CI initiatives and process improvements.
- Identify and apply advancements in tools, equipment, and engineering processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in a Canadian jurisdiction (Mechanical or Process preferred).
- 10–18 years of engineering experience with proven leadership capability.
- Understanding of ASME B31.3 and piping system design.
- Strong understanding of Canadian regulatory frameworks and engineering codes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage engineering from FEED through commissioning and maintenance.
- Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
