Responsibilities

The Software Development Analyst designs, develops, tests, and deploys software applications, and application interfaces. Including the underlying applications infrastructure using industry best practices and TransLink standards. Works collaboratively and provides guidance to peers and stakeholders to ensure that all information systems programs and projects meet development standards for functional and non-functional requirements. Analyses business requirements and contributes to the application architecture, integration, technology choices and development strategy. Monitors, provides technical support and upgrades software applications to insure seamless operation. Contributes to the continuous improvement of the software development processes, practices and tools. Serves as the technical subject matter experts to assist non-technical team members with understanding technical requirements, work breakdown and effort estimates.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Requires diploma in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, or mathematics from a recognized university or technology institution with courses in business and systems analysis, software design and programming, and use of software development tools.

EXPERIENCE:

Requires three (3) years of recent related experience in the development of highly scalable and robust commercial software and web applications, and API’s, utilizing software development and DevOPs tools/methodologies and information engineering techniques, software design patterns. Infrastructure as code, client-side web technologies and best practices.

A further period of up to one (1) year in the position is required to become familiar with Translink’s information systems, policies, procedures, environment and its user requirements, as well as corporate road maps.

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week.

This is a full-time temporary position with an approximate end date of May 1, 2026

Hybrid

This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay

Salary $8,236 - $9,896 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).

The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan upon eligibility.
