Role description The Educational Advisor volunteer role is a remote position focused on supporting learners in planning and pursuing their educational goals. Main tasks include providing guidance, learning pathways, and program options aligned with GEHESI’s mission and values. The educational advisor will respond to inquiries from prospective and current learners, conduct consultations, and assist with clarifying academic requirements. The role also involves collaborating with other team members to improve advising processes, preparing informational materials, and maintaining accurate records of advising interactions. This is a volunteer role and does not constitute paid employment. We sincerely thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Main qualifications Candidates should possess strong educational consulting and consulting skills to guide learners through program choices and academic planning. Candidates should possess clear and respectful communication skills to interact effectively with learners and team members in a remote environment. Candidates should possess a solid background or interest in education to understand higher education structures and learning pathways. Candidates should possess customer service skills to provide supportive, responsive, and empathetic assistance to all learners. Familiarity with Islamic educational contexts or willingness to learn about them is beneficial. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and use online communication and collaboration tools. Relevant experience in advising, counseling, or education is an advantage, though diverse educational backgrounds are welcome.
