Vice President, Finance
About the role
ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Regimen Equity Partners (“Regimen”) is a Canadian private equity firm specializing in the ownership transition of small to mid-size organizations. Headquartered in Vancouver with an office in Toronto, Regimen partners with exceptional management teams to foster long-term growth and create enduring businesses. The firm is committed to building meaningful partnerships that lead to generational wealth and a fulfilling experience for all stakeholders.
Specializing in the ownership transition of mid-sized Canadian organizations, Regimen collaborates with profitable enterprises and transforms them into industry-leading players through strategic acquisitions and best management practices. Forming meaningful and lasting relationships, they create significant wealth over the long term through a multi-decade approach of measured and sustainable growth.
POSITION + SCOPE
As Vice President, Finance (“VP, Finance”) at Regimen Equity Partners, you will step into a pivotal leadership role at the intersection of finance, operations, and investor engagement. Based in Vancouver and reporting directly to the Managing Director responsible for financial and administrative affairs, you will be responsible for both the day-to-day financial management of the firm and the oversight of fund-level operations. Your mandate spans a wide spectrum, from ensuring the integrity of internal and external financial reporting to contributing to investor communications and overseeing tax, regulatory, and compliance obligations across the platform.
You will lead a capable finance team, including a Controller and Fund Administrator, while also managing relationships with external partners such as auditors, legal counsel, valuators and tax advisors. In this role, you will be expected to operate at both a strategic and tactical level: contributing meaningfully to firm-wide decision-making while ensuring financial and operational excellence is consistently maintained. You will play a key part in upholding the firm’s commitment to transparency, discipline, and long-term value creation for its investors.
To be successful, you bring a broad and adaptable finance skill set. You are confident managing fund administration and investor reporting, familiar with private securities and compliance considerations, and capable of navigating tax and regulatory frameworks with minimal oversight. You are comfortable drafting investor and marketing materials, reviewing legal contracts, working with business technology systems, and supporting the financial oversight of private businesses. This is a role well-suited to an experienced, hands-on finance professional seeking to contribute to the continued success and thoughtful growth of a dynamic private equity platform.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE + QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally at the VP level or equivalent, within private capital, private credit, real estate funds, family offices, or fund administration environments. Experience in public practice or financial services may be considered if paired with relevant fund-specific exposure.
+Strong command of full-cycle accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, month-end and year-end close processes, and preparation of external financial statements in a multi-entity structure.
+Direct experience overseeing fund operations and compliance, with a working knowledge of securities regulation as it pertains to private placements, investor onboarding, and suitability assessments.
+Demonstrated expertise in investor reporting, including preparation of investor statements, responding to due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), and managing legal and subscription documentation such as private placement memoranda.
+Proficiency in Canadian tax structures and fund-level tax planning, with a strong preference for candidates who have completed the CPA In-Depth Tax Course or possess equivalent applied tax experience.
+Working knowledge of portfolio valuation processes, including collaboration with third-party valuation providers and integration of valuation inputs into investor and regulatory reporting cycles.
+Track record of supporting or leading capital raising efforts for alternative or private investment vehicles, including the preparation of financial materials for prospective investors. While not a core requirement, this experience will be viewed as a strong asset.
+Technology fluency, with hands-on experience using Sage accounting software, ExemptEdge/Raisr or comparable investor management platforms, and advanced Excel modeling skills. Comfort working with and improving systems and workflows is essential.
+Experience building and managing small, high-performing finance teams, with a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and delegate effectively in entrepreneurial or rapidly scaling organizations.
+Proven ability to lead special projects or interpret evolving regulatory frameworks, applying analytical rigor to initiatives such as new compliance mandates, reporting obligations, or internal planning processes.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
-
Undergraduate degree required, in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
-
CPA designation required.
-
Candidates with the In-Depth Tax Course or equivalent advanced tax specialization will be strongly preferred.
