About the role
Our Calgary-based client is seeking a Maintenance Planner. A successful candidate will be responsible for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance department by planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities. This role involves detailed planning of maintenance tasks, ensuring equipment reliability, and maximizing production uptime. The Maintenance Planner will work closely with maintenance technicians, plant buyer, maintenance manager, production teams, and vendors to maintain the facility’s operational standards while minimizing downtime.
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Plan and prioritize corrective maintenance to minimize production disruption.
- Coordinate planned downtimes to reduce failures and support production schedules.
- Prepare and issue complete work orders with required parts, tools, and labor.
- Align maintenance activities with production schedules and planned shutdowns.
- Maintain accurate parts inventory and coordinate procurement of needed materials.
- Identify and manage critical spare parts to prevent downtime.
- Track, document, and report work order status, labor hours, and equipment downtime.
- Collaborate with teams to analyze equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards, regulations, and internal KPIs.
Your strengths include:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in corrugated manufacturing or paper industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of SAP maintenance modules
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning processes, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and equipment reliability practices.
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certifications are a plus.
- Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Professional (MPSP)
