We are seeking a Linux System Administrator to handle day-to-day operations in our growing organization, which focuses on technical solutions for AI safety.

Key responsibilities

• Configure authentication and authorization in the services directory.
• Actively monitor all IT infrastructure components.
• Ensure the operational maintenance of the computing infrastructure.
• Identify and resolve performance and operational issues of hardware and software components.
• Participate in the evolution of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation management tools.
• Participate in the evolution of data management policies.
• Participate in the evolution of security policies.
• Participate in the architecture and execution of infrastructure projects.
• Write and update technical documentation.
• Ensure that technical documentation is representative of infrastructure changes and user knowledge needs.
• Assist in the production of technical specifications for Request for Proposals and direct purchases.

Skills and qualifications

• University degree in a relevant discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a system administrator role.
• Experience in managing computing clusters for High-Performance Computing, HPC (an asset - must be willing to learn).
• Extensive expertise in Linux.
• Expertise in networking.
• Experience in IT security.
• Experience in implementing automated server installation, security audits, and task automation.
• Expertise with the Slurm workload manager (an asset).
• Expertise in parallel file systems (an asset).
• Very good knowledge of GPU computing equipment and accelerators (an asset).
• Good knowledge of version control tools (git).
• Experience and knowledge of virtualization, backup systems, storage network technologies, and network/server management and monitoring.
• Experience in data center management and setting up high availability.
