Role Summary Alteris Consulting is seeking a SAP Functional Data Conversion Lead to support end-to-end data migration activities for SAP transformation programs, including ECC to SAP S/4HANA implementations, carve-outs, and system conversions. This is a temporary contractor position requiring a seasoned SAP data conversion professional who can lead planning, coordination, and execution across complex functional and technical environments. The successful candidate will work closely with business, functional, technical, and project stakeholders to ensure data migration activities are delivered accurately, completely, and in alignment with program timelines and cutover requirements. Operating at the intersection of SAP functional expertise, data quality, and project execution, this role is responsible for defining the data conversion strategy, managing mock conversion cycles, coordinating data validation and reconciliation activities, and ensuring readiness for production migration.

Key Responsibilities Data Conversion Strategy & Planning Define and own the overall data conversion strategy and approach Develop conversion plans aligned to overall SAP program timelines, deployment milestones, and cutover activities Identify and confirm data scope, data objects, and source systems across SAP functional areas Establish conversion governance, roles, responsibilities, and working processes across business and project teams

Mock Conversion Cycles Establish the process for mock data conversion cycles Coordinate with business, functional, and technical teams to execute mock cycles Track mock cycle readiness, execution progress, defects, and remediation activities Drive lessons learned from each cycle to improve conversion accuracy and efficiency

Data Scope & Functional Coordination Lead data conversion planning across SAP areas including: SAP IS-U Finance Controlling Supply Chain Management Human Resources Payroll Partner with functional leads and business SMEs to define data requirements, mapping rules, and validation expectations Coordinate across multiple source systems and business domains to ensure complete and accurate migration scope

Data Quality, Validation & Reconciliation Establish data quality standards, validation rules, and reconciliation processes Work with business teams to support data cleansing, enrichment, and readiness activities Define and manage data validation checkpoints before, during, and after conversion cycles Ensure migrated data meets agreed business, compliance, and operational requirements

Tooling & Execution Oversight Lead and support conversion activities using SAP data migration and conversion tools, including: SAP Migration Cockpit SAP DMLT SAP Information Hub / IHUB SAP BODS LSMW Coordinate with technical teams responsible for extraction, transformation, loading, defect resolution, and reporting Support issue triage and resolution across data mapping, load failures, reconciliation gaps, and functional validation defects

Stakeholder & Program Alignment Work closely with business stakeholders, SAP functional teams, technical teams, data teams, and program leadership Communicate conversion status, risks, issues, dependencies, and decision points clearly and consistently Ensure data conversion activities are integrated with testing, deployment, and cutover planning Provide leadership and coordination across multiple teams to drive conversion readiness and successful execution

Success Measures Successful execution of data conversion strategy across SAP transformation phases Effective completion of mock conversion cycles with clear issue tracking and remediation High levels of data accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation confidence Strong alignment between data conversion activities, project timelines, and cutover plans Clear communication and coordination across functional, technical, and business stakeholders Successful support of production migration readiness and post-load validation activities

Qualifications 14+ years of SAP experience with multiple end-to-end implementations Strong experience leading SAP data migration on SAP S/4HANA programs Prior experience as a Data Conversion Lead or Senior Data Conversion Consultant Experience supporting SAP ECC to S/4HANA implementations, carve-outs, or system conversions Strong understanding of SAP functional data structures, business processes, and migration dependencies Utilities and SAP IS-U experience is strongly preferred

Technical & Functional Expertise Strong knowledge of SAP modules and functional areas, including: SAP IS-U FI CO SCM HR Payroll Hands-on experience with SAP data conversion tools, including: SAP Migration Cockpit SAP DMLT IHUB SAP BODS LSMW Proven capability in: Data migration strategy and planning Data object scoping and source system analysis Mock conversion cycle planning and execution Data quality, validation, and reconciliation Cutover alignment and production migration readiness Cross-functional issue management and stakeholder coordination
