As a Lead – Systems Analyst within our Analytics Bureau you are a technical and business specialist, that works closely with areas across the organization, architects solutions across systems and business units, and implements those solutions within deployed systems. Implements business process changes in order to continuously improve the organization. A technical generalist, they are able to understand and create data architecture, software development, cybersecurity, cloud implementations, system configurations, process flows and all the impacts to business systems and business processes. Supervises solution developer(s) in the Analytics team.
What will your typical day look like?
- Supervises the daily and weekly activities of the solution developer(s) in the Analytics team providing for staff development and training, establishing performance standards and conducting performance evaluations, with direct input into hiring decisions and taking responsibility for team results. Also supervises project staff when assigned to projects.
- Develops software solutions within and across implemented systems.
- Provides expertise at what the core Peel policing systems are capable of and what configurations and extensions they are capable of in order to build solutions to solve core business problems.
- Develops Process Solutions in combination with software solutions within and across systems.
- Captures existing processes and proposed future state processes to solve business problems in conjunction with system configurations.
- Implements solutions and data capture solutions based on both process definition and system configuration.
- Evaluates solutions based on privacy & security of the data, cyber security and risk to the organization which must meet security requirements.
- Evaluates architecture of solutions from an infrastructure, cloud, data and business perspective.
- Documents and presents solutions and processes.
- Documents process flows and provides issue management, gap analysis, technical and business documentation and presents on solutions, gaps, risks and issues.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

You are someone with:
- A University Degree in Computer Science specializing in software development and business analysis is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A professional designation as a Business Analyst Professional and Project Management Professional is preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years direct experience is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Software development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Business Analyst body of knowledge.
- Demonstrated Experience in designing business solutions within large enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated Experience in Lean Six Sigma practices.
- Demonstrated Experience in presenting solutions to technical and non-technical teams.
- Demonstrated supervisory/leadership skills- Demonstrated oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, research and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License (Class G) with full driving privileges
What we offer
The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is **$87,503.00 to $**147,433.00 per annum. Peel Regional Police offers a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($120,896.00 - $147,433.00) based on experience. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance; and the OMERS Pension Plan effective upon hire.
