Production Supervisor Lavington, British Columbia

If you’re a leader at heart, have manufacturing experience and want to make a real impact, come join us!  We are looking for a Production Supervisor , to join our Lavington Planer Mill Division located in Coldstream, British Columbia .

Our  Lavington Division  is where Tolko’s story began over 60 years ago. Today, at Lavington, we safely and sustainably produce 238 million board feet of lumber per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities. 

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, lumber recovery, and production efficiency.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a lumber manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a focus on safety and reliability.
  • Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts.
  • Experience in building and developing a positive team environment.
  • Post-secondary education in forestry, sawmill business or industrial wood processing would be considered an asset.

In this role, you will:

  • Live the Tolko values with an emphasis on safety, respect, progressiveness, integrity, open communication and profit .
  • Develop and empower your team to deliver results.
  • Provide direction and leadership to a production crew.
  • Ensure production targets and schedules are met as forecasted by monitoring production schedules, tracking progress and making adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure efficiency and quality in lumber products manufacturing.
  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures and that risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Build strong labor relations and maintain effective communication.
