About the role

Title: Field Heavy Equipment Technician

Location: Fort McMurray, AB

Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Field Heavy Equipment Technician in Fort McMurray to overhaul, repair, maintain, and inspect Pitbull’s heavy equipment. Responsibilities include diagnostics, preparing work processes, and ensuring DOT compliance. The role requires embracing Pitbull’s Core Values and working independently. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support.
  • Build expert knowledge of Pitbull’s heavy equipment, including maintenance and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings to discuss safety, minimize hazards, and review work assignments.
  • Oversee apprentices, providing technical oversight and skill-building support.
  • Complete and review Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA) and Work Orders, and manage parts requests and overtime approvals

Job Requirements:

  • Heavy Equipment Tech (HET) Journeyperson certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Successfully pass the Pre-Employment Alcohol and Drug Screening Test
  • Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
