Position Details
The University of Lethbridge Building Maintenance Department requires the services of a qualified Maintenance Worker to commence work as soon as possible. This will be a casual position.
Reporting to the Manager, Building Maintenance, the incumbent will be responsible for completing work orders related to aspects of building maintenance and event requests. Building Maintenance work orders can range from office moves, furniture assembly, furniture repairs and modification, flooring (tile, carpet, vinyl), ceiling frame & tile repair/replacement, minor drywall repairs and painting, window covering repair/replacement and equipment removal can be little as moving furniture within an office. Events are required to be setup and taken down in short periods of time, requiring developed organizational skills and the need to thrive in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. Deliveries of tables, chairs and other event related equipment happens daily requiring effective management of storage room inventories to respond to and anticipate event requests as they come in.
This position will interact with campus stakeholders daily, so strong communication skills are essential. Work orders generally cover all required items, but adjustments maybe required, in consultation with the stakeholders, to ensure the work is completed correctly.
Salary: $22.93 per hour.
Position Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a high school diploma.

The successful candidate should have at least two years working experience with hand tools, power tools and general repair knowledge of furniture and moving equipment.

The successful candidate must be able to maintain effective working relationships with the University’s staff and the general public.

A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
