About the role
Under the direction of the Retail Manager, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the daily operations for the retail location. In addition to overseeing and directing work for the operations team, the assistant manager will play a large role in developing new business as well as maintaining the existing customer base.
essential functions and position responsibilities:
- Assist with the coordination of ordering fertilizer, seed, and crop production products within Company Policy
- Use and knowledge of logistics, inventory and account management
- Motivated sales professional with the ability to increase sales and market share in crop protection products, fertilizer, seed and specialty products
- In conjunction with the Retail Manager, oversee external operations including facility equipment maintenance, and assist with internal operations of the retail location including client billing and product costing
- Ensure that all Company Safety Policies are being adhered to and all Company standards are being met
- Build client loyalty by providing sound advice and solutions that meet customer needs in order to maximize customer productivity
- Other Duties as Required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Preference will be given to anyone with a degree or diploma in the area of Agricultural Science or Management
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Agriculture or Agriculture sales, with a diverse portfolio of experience, primarily in the commercial market
- Experience in facility and equipment operations and maintenance
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical skills to understand the financial needs of an organization including budgeting
- Well developed and collaborative people skills to assist other in reaching their potential
- Well developed customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of management and support staff
- Proficient use and knowledge of computers and MS Office Suite
- Must live near or in the town of Luseland, Saskatchewan
