Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will establish and develop relationships with our business community contacts and look for opportunities to promote Vancity products and services with members and non-members. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; outstanding interpersonal skills and fosters a "Team Player" spirit. You will be deeply committed to creating value in our communities and, through member service and advice, be able to develop business internally and externally in measurable results. Through your leadership, non-management staff will deliver an excellent member experience and relevant financial services to members and communities consistent with branch objectives.
This is a Full -time, Permanent role based at our Abbotsford Community Branch (Branch 34) and reports directly to the Branch Manager.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Continuously building business and financial planning acumen of member facing staff in order to facilitate and/or deliver a great member experience and grow and maintain a membership base that is loyal, deep and committed to Vancity
- Facilitating the quality and value of member interactions against service standards through effective lobby management and member relationship management, and service members' complex needs as required
- Managing the delivery of day to day service, including staffing, scheduling, traffic flow, problem resolution, and referrals in order to deliver a great service experience and service members during high volume periods as required
- Assisting the Branch Manager in the development of plans to achieve financial objectives for the branch
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- At least 3 years of overall experience within the financial industry or a related field, 1 year of which at a leadership capacity
- Solid Business acumen in the context of the financial industry.
- Advanced Knowledge of relevant Vancity products, policies, procedures, systems, tools, products and services.
- Advanced Knowledge of Vancity strategies, functions and programs
- A High School Diploma (or similar level of educational attainment)
Extra Skills That Set You Apart:
- Post Secondary Education/Diploma (Business Administration or Finance)
- Successful completion of the Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) or the Canadian Securities Course (CSC),
- Successful completion of three courses towards the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation
- Successful completion of coaching modules in alignment with Vancity's current training and development educational standards.

What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $81,200 to $122,000 per annum . Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
