Your role at Clorox:

This position is responsible for the end-to-end administration of benefits, and pension programs for Canadian employees across multiple entities. This role administrators processing, benefits and pension programs (DC and DB), compliance with statutory requirements, reporting, and reconciliations. This role also plays a key role in employee onboarding, disability management, and process improvement initiatives. Acting as the primary contact for pension and benefits, the role partners with HR, Payroll, Finance, compliance, and a positive employee experience. Responsible for managing external vendor relationships (Industrial Assurance, Manulife, Telus Health).

In this role, you will:

Benefits Administration

  • Leads the development and execution of the new hire/transfers orientation process for benefits.

  • Administer the company’s benefits programs (medical, dental, life insurance, disability, pension, and other programs).

  • Maintain accurate benefits records, including dependents, coverage changes, salary updates, and medical documentation.

  • Liaise with consultants and carriers (iA, Manulife) to ensure compliance and resolve issues.

  • Responsible for calculating all leave top ups (MAT/PAT, STD etc)

  • Own timely and accurate processing of HR invoicing (benefits, pension, LHH, EHT, WorksafeBC, WSIB etc.) partner to improve process where required

  • Partner with providers to proactively simplify and automate benefit processes where required.

Disability Management

  • Responsible for disability case management escalation including research and partnering with providers proactively with the employee experience as a priority
  • Manages and processes all leave related pay, including auditing HRIS system to ensure accuracy of leave data entry, auditing and processing Clorox leave of absences’ pay files from vendors.
  • Manages employee time tracking for those on LOA to ensure accuracy in payments.
  • Coordinate and submitted required documentation for long term-disability (LTD) claims with vendors.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with Plant HR, Employee Relation and LOA vendor (Manulife and Industrial Assurance) to work through case management.
  • Manage end-to-end disability process with iA

Pension & Retirement Programs

  • Facilitate onboarding of pension and benefits for new hires
  • Provide administrative oversight of pension plans (DC and DB) in conjunction with external consulting partners and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
  • Serve as a member of the pension committee.
  • Works with Reuters to proactively administers pension reporting, invoicing, and compliance activities.
  • Administer RRSP contributions and ensure year-end adjustments are accurate.
  • Pension reconciliation reports for finance

HR Data Administration (Biscayne)

  • Support HR partner for ensuring accuracy of Workday transactions and compliance with audit controls. (examples: Rate changes, promotion, address change etc)
  • Manage statutory leaves, top-ups, and ensure compliance with employment standards.
  • Liaise with HRBPs (Plant and Corporate) on payroll, benefits and pension related matters.
  • Submitting monthly total compensation to Ontario WSIB, and yearly for all other provinces.

Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Enter and extract employee data from HRIS (Workday, ADP) to produce reports, statistics, and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Reconcile benefit/pension reports with Finance.
  • Provide benefits reporting to Finance and HR leadership, including GL variance explanations.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with tax legislation, pension regulations, employment standards, and internal policies.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and IT/HRIS to resolve system and data-related issues.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives with vendors and internal stakeholders to strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and support automation.

Project Work

  • Proactively evaluates improvement opportunities for benefits programs, partners with internal team and vendors to develop recommendations for changes or improvements, that may lead to implementation of approved changes.
  • Special projects as assigned.

What we look for:

Years and Type of Experience:

  • 3-5+ years of pension and benefits experience is required
  • Technical capabilities and numbers oriented is required
  • 1-2 years payroll entry and admin experience is preferred
  • PCP or CPM or benefits/pension course/designation is preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, benefits administration, and pension compliance (DC/DB).
  • Benefits and pension administration knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, Workday, and vendor systems (iA, Manulife).
  • Proficient with Excel and reconciliation skills with attention to detail is a requirement
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and streamline workflows.
