What You'll Be Doing:

Occupational Health, SafetyEnvironment

  • Co-chair the Rise Air and Snowbird Aviation Services OHS/AOHS Committees - maintain meeting minutes and track corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and training to reduce risk and strengthen safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, including issuing workplace directives or stop-work orders when required.
  • Lead workplace inspections to ensure equipment, materials, processes, and PPE meet safety standards.
  • Investigate hazardous occurrences, accidents, work refusals, and safety complaints, conducting root cause analyses and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and Management of Change activities under the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Maintain corporate safety policies, environmental and sustainability initiatives, and accurate safety documentation within QA and safety systems.

Dangerous Goods (DG) Program

  • Serve as Dangerous Goods Coordinator in accordance with Transport Canada requirements.
  • Oversee and maintain the Dangerous Goods Program, including policies, procedures, manuals, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide operational guidance on dangerous goods transportation, considering aircraft type, routing, and operational limitations.
  • Obtain and manage special permits and equivalency certificates as required.
  • Advise procurement on compliant packaging, suppliers, and qualified ground handling or interline partners.
  • Administer internal dangerous goods training programs and coordinate with training managers and external providers to maintain certifications.

You Might Be the Perfect Fit If You Have:

  • Strong knowledge of occupational health, aviation safety, and dangerous goods regulations
  • Experience working within Safety Management Systems
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • High levels of initiative, accountability, and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

What You'll Need:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience
  • BCRSP certification and aviation experience are considered assets
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment such as aviation, mining, oil and gas, nuclear, or engineering is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clear abstract
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and criminal background check
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
