Job description and duties

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a non-regular Instructor(s) in our Business Administration (BADM) program. For the winter 2026 semester (subject to minimum enrolment). Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor salary scale (range: $37.55 and $66.37 hourly).

Duties: The instructor(s) will be responsible for contributing to the academic success of students in the BADM program. This includes course preparation, teaching, evaluation of student work and guiding students by providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction.

Winter Semester (January – April)

  • MGMT 258: Organizational Training and Development (45 instructional hours)

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Business (MBA preferred) or a closely related discipline (Commerce, Economics, Finance, Human Resources). Additional post-secondary education and training in teaching, (e.g. A Master’s Degree in Adult Education, a Provincial Teaching Certificate or, a Provincial Instructor's Diploma) is preferred.

  • Experience teaching in a variety of formats, including online, face to face and through distributed learning is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching with the ability to motivate and mentor learners of all ages
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom
  • Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the Indigenous communities is an asset

The successful applicant will possess a broad range of content knowledge, confidence and experience with business topics. Experience should demonstrate excellent technology skills, group facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills. A commitment to student success is required, along with a demonstrated ability to foster a motivational learning environment for a diverse student base.
