Role Description The Lowboy and Mobilization role is a full-time, on-site position based in Nisku, AB. This role is responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment to and from job sites using lowboy trailers and other mobilization vehicles. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and loading equipment, coordinating with site supervisors on mobilization schedules, and ensuring compliance with transportation and safety regulations. The individual in this role will support project teams by moving equipment efficiently between locations, maintaining accurate logs and documentation, and assisting with basic equipment checks or minor adjustments as needed. Collaboration with dispatch, mechanics, and site personnel is essential to keep projects running smoothly and minimize downtime.
Qualifications
Strong skills in safe operation of trucks and lowboy trailers, including loading, securing, and unloading heavy equipment. Knowledge of transportation regulations, permitting requirements, and highway safety best practices. Ability to read maps, follow route plans, and adapt to changing site access and traffic conditions. Experience working on civil construction sites, with familiarity in earthworks and heavy equipment types. Attention to detail in conducting vehicle and equipment inspections and maintaining accurate trip logs. Effective communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, dispatch, and site teams. Demonstrated commitment to safety, including adherence to company policies and participation in safety programs. Valid Class 1 Alberta License) with a clean driving record. Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions, and to perform moderate physical tasks such as climbing, lifting, and securing loads. Previous experience in lowboy hauling, mobilization, or heavy equipment transport is strongly preferred. Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as project schedules require.
