Lube Technician- Hillsdale Shop
Location: 2365 Cassel Drive Hillsdale
Position Type: Permanent Full-Time
Reporting to: Equipment Manager
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm–1:00am
Rate: $22.71 per hour
Summary:
The Lube Technician is primarily responsible for performing routine equipment maintenance, focusing on lubrication and fluid services. This includes shop maintenance, cleanliness and any other minor repairs.
Responsibilities:
In the position of Lube Technician, the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with the occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Service of all Company vehicles, such as chassis lubrication, oil changes and cleaning of trucks and any other MWS equipment, as needed.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance according to established MWS policies and procedures.
- Maintain all required records and files for vehicle maintenance.
- Will also be required to clean the shop, paint rims, and generally maintain the appearance of the equipment.
- Assist technicians with basic repairs and other maintenance of trucks and equipment.
- Will be lubricating and conducting fluid services, on all Miller Waste equipment, as needed.
- Draining old oil, replacing filters and refilling with correct amount of new oil.
- Inspecting and topping off various fluids like transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant, and windshield washer fluid.
- Applying lubricants to various vehicle components, such as chassis parts and wheel bearings, to reduce friction and wear.
Competencies & Qualifications:
- Successful candidates will be mechanically inclined and possess a strong work ethic.
- Should possess a strong desire to learn and an ability to apply that knowledge during their daily duties.
- Previous experience as a Lube Technician or in a similar role is considered an asset.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is key, as well as working in a team environment.
- You must be available to work late when trucks are behind schedule, as well you may be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
- Should be striving to obtain a Technician’s Licence.
- Must have a valid ‘G’ Driver’s Licence for this position.
