Job Description
The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying and securing new revenue opportunities across Carmen’s asset-based and brokerage divisions. This individual will focus on building long-term relationships with small to mid-sized shippers, actively prospecting and closing new business to support the company’s growth targets.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities aligned with company goals
- Identify and target new customers through prospecting, referrals, research, and cold outreach
- Represent both asset-based (FTL/LTL) and brokerage services in a professional and strategic manner
- Build trust-based relationships with prospects and convert them into long-term customers
- Maintain detailed knowledge of market conditions, customer needs, and competitor offerings
- Coordinate with internal team to secure and present competitive rate offerings
- Negotiate and close deals with a focus on long-term value and profitability
- Attend industry events and leverage business development functions to build network and brand awareness
- Provide market feedback to the Sales Manager and contribute to strategy planning
- Accurately update CRM with prospect and customer activity and maintain organized follow-ups
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience in North American transportation (brokerage and/or asset-based)
- Proven ability to convert prospects, close business, and meet or exceed sales targets
- Strong understanding of FTL, LTL, and spot market dynamics
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently or within a team
- High integrity, strong work ethic, and professional demeanor
- Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- University or College degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Existing network of small to mid-sized shippers
Compensation
- Competitive base salary $50-$80K Base
- Commission on new business (Year 1 followed by trailing years)
- Structured onboarding, ongoing coaching, and growth opportunities
Work Conditions
- Office-based with flexibility for remote or hybrid work
- Occasional travel for customer visits or trade events
